The Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation is currently implementing an integrated development program, and, according to the interview given by the first Deputy Head of FCS Ruslan Davydov to RIA Novosti, the Russian customs is expected to become fully electronic by 2020.

“The Federal Customs Service of Russia is implementing an integrated development program until 2020, we are switching to electronic declaration centres and already have 100% online customs filing; automatic registration and automatic release without any human participation is being introduced: if the risks don’t work out, the declaration will be recorded and released,” Davydov said.

He emphasized that “FCS is using up-to-date control technology, and the customs will become fully electronic by 2020 by 2020”.

However, Davydov noted that there still was a problem with arrangement of checkpoints due to underinvestment in this sphere.
