Russian commercial seaports handled 463.7 million tons of cargo during 7 months of 2018

The freight turnover of the Russian commercial seaports in January-July 2018 was 463.7 mln tons of cargo, an 3.1% growth compared with the same period of the last year, according to the Association of Commercial Seaports of the Russian Federation (ASOP).

Only the Russian ports in the Baltic Basin decreased the volume of freight turnovers. Since the beginning of the year, they have reduced the amount of work by 1.3% to 142.1 million tons compared with the same period of the last year. The seaports in Southern Basin handle the largest volume of cargo compared with the harbours of other basins and the freight turnover is constantly growing. According to the results of seven months, 157.1 mln tons were handled here, which is 6.2% higher than last year. Moreover, the dynamics of outrunning growth in the ports of the Southern Basin has been observed since 2014.
