Azerbaijan opened a new international sea trade port with the capacity of 15 mln tons on the Caspian

Azerbaijan opened a new international sea trade port with the capacity of 15 mln tons on the Caspian sea. It was constructed on the Caspian coast in Alyaty 65 km south of Baku at the cross-section of “North-South” and “East-West” transportation corridors including important highways and railways, also in Russia’s direction. According to the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan, the cargos delivered to the country from different directions will be transported to Europe by Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway or by ships in Eastern direction.

As Azerbaijan President Ilkham Aliev said, the new port was constructed using the highest standards, the newest equipment was bought, including cranes. “Thus, we established the strongest transport and logistics center in Azerbaijan, said the President.
